About The Opportunity
  • Manage the day to day indirect stores inventory including verification of items checked out of indirect stores. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Collects all indirect stores items from receiving dock after they are received in the MRP system (MfgPro) by the receiving clerk

  • Performs transactions in the MRP system showing items are checked out or into Indirect Stores.   This includes manually transacting items removed from Remstar in the MRP System (MfgPro)

  • Monitors safety stock levels to ensure parts are available.  Makes adjustments as needed to increase or decrease stock quantity after confirming with the Manufacturing Engineer for the area in question, the Maintenance Supervisor or the Maintenance & Facilities manager

  • Works with vendor(s) to order MRO items as needed to support the production floor

  • Works with vendors to restock inventory items as needed including any expedite orders

  • Works with vendors to support the Vendor Managed Inventory for MRO items, Labels, Lubricants, etc. on a daily basis

  • Responsible for setting up parts into the stores system via the MRP system using the “GKN Add to Indirect Stores Process”

  • When setting up new parts in Indirect Stores, input data into the Vertical Storage Unit (Remstar) software including description and photos of each item

  • Performs E&O analysis to support removal from indirect stores as required by GKN policy.  Complete paper work to have items removed.  Once approved physically remove and dispose of the E&O materials

  • Perform cycle counts on all indirect inventory

  • Lead the required physical inventory of indirect stores.

  • Collect expensed items ordered from the receiving area and disperse as necessary
