About The Opportunity

Role purpose:

Manage all Customer Requirements for Assigned Control System to Ensure 100% Compliance to Requirements for Software, Hardware and Testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead global resources in the gathering of all customer requirements, creation of Integrity Representations of each Customer Requirement Document, analysis of all requirements and the functional decomposition of those requirements into GKN Control System Specifications.

  • Main Requirements Engineering contact for the customer’s ECU System team.

  • Gather all Customer Requirements and Input into Requirements Management Tool. Deliverable:  Formal Input Document Representations for each in PTC Integrity

  • Analyze ECU System and Diagnostic Requirements
    Deliverable: ECU Subsystem Specification, SSS and Functional Diagnostic  Requirement (FDR) document agreed with the customer that illustrates 100% traceability to all customer requirements

  • Support ECU Subsystem development (high level) by serving as GKN Subject Matter Expert for System Requirements
    Deliverables: SSDD

  • Lead Change management efforts for Requirement changes.
    Deliverable: Updates to SSS, FDR and SSDD for Change orders (approved change requests)

  • Support GKN plant on ECU Subsystem industrialization by defining and documenting high level control systems requirements (SSS, SSDD, etc.)

  • Serve as PTC Integrity Subject Matter Expert for the regional Application Software team

  • Serve as PTC Integrity Liaison for the regional Application Software team to GKN Global Requirements Team

    • Deliverables:  Common PTC Integrity Dashboards, Reports, Queries and

    • Metrics for all GKN Control Systems Programs

Qualifications - required: 

  • Engineering degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar 
Previous experience required:
  • 5-7+  years’ experience in Software Development for Embedded Software in Automotive ECUs, preferably in powertrain or chassis applications.
  • 2+ years’ experience with a Requirements Management Tool (e.g. PTC Integrity or IBM Rational DOORs)
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with customers and suppliers.
  • Proven communication, teamwork and organizational talents.
  • Hunger for continuous learning, growth and curiosity.
  • Good English language skills (reading & writing)
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must be able to work and travel independently
