About The Opportunity

Role Purpose

GKN is looking for the next generation of future leaders in Industry 4.0.  With your successful participation in the program, we will find the best opportunities for you by first exploring your individual aspirations and skills. 

Industry 4.0 is the next generation of manufacturing. The convergence of mechanical components, electrical systems, software, data, and digital connectivity will mean that tomorrow’s manufacturing facilities will be fully digitally connected enterprises. We will be able to exchange information in real time between machines, plants, suppliers, our own functions, etc and make decisions more quickly using analytical tools and predictive analysis.

The 2 year rotational program is made up of four job placements of approximately 6 months across GKN Driveline Americas region, with the potential for assignments outside of the Americas. Each rotation will be at a different business site and functional department. This will give you the opportunity to work with diverse people and develop a multi-faceted understanding of our business, throughout the program you can expect: 

  • The opportunity to test and grow your technical, leadership and management skills. GKN will support and develop your skills by providing you experience with real-world projects, problem solving and the ability to impact actual change within the company
  • A mentor specifically assigned to you from our Leadership Team that will stay with you throughout the program, this will support your growth and development within GKN
  • Not only will you receive the assigned development for the GRAD Program but you will also have an individual development plan that is tailored to your unique skills and abilities
  • Exposure to all different levels of the organization

Key Responsibilities

The Graduate Rotation and Development Program is an intensive and highly personalized fast-track development program aimed at our future Industry 4.0 leaders. The program gives a unique introduction to GKN Driveline in the Americas Region and allows you to set your own goals and explore your interests within the company. Upon completion of the program, our aim is for you to have experienced GKN Driveline in the United States, Brazil and Mexico and made a real impact on our business. 

 

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

  • The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical eningeering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, software engineering, computer science, IS/IT, industrial engineering, statistics, mathematics, or similar, with no more than two years of experience since graduating with a Bachelor’s degree.  
  • Previous experience building customer relationships and partnerships is also key to the success of the role.  
  • You will need to be able to travel independently and speak and write English fluently.  
  • Passionate about the future of manufacturing
  • Innovative and creative with demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Flexible and willing to embrace new technology and change
  • Additionally, experience as an intern or co-op in your respective field is favorable. 
  • The position will require you to gain thorough knowledge of many functions so the ability to be flexible and be open to gain non- engineering experience is required.
  • Willing and able to work abroad
