About The Opportunity

 Leads and facilitates the implementation of VA/VE projects for the Sanford site.

 

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Lead VA/VE project monitoring in all product segments and reporting units for stage C and D projects.

Facilitate the removal of "road blocks" to the implementation of VA/VE projects - ensure proper alignment between the manufacturing facilities, purchasing and Account teams.

Develop robust and real time tracking mechanisms to allow the Sanford Site to be able to see at any given time the overall status of individual projects

Lead appropriate VA/VE projects from idea to implementation.

Lead and participate in VA/VE workshops with the purpose to develop new ideas to fulfill budget targets. Lead follow up activities of workshops leading to a decision to pursue or close each idea.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the VA/VE process.

Champion the VA/VE culture with the Sanford Facility

Participate and contribute to the Global VA/VE initiatives as appropriate to ensure

Develop and standardize best practices in the Sanford Facility

Ensure best practices and the latest technologies are being implemented in the Sanford Facility

Number of Account Teams/countries within sphere of influence:  All account teams and all countries in Americas region. 

Nature of problems addressed: Simple to complex problems i.e. simple resource allocation requests to complex cross function, cross culture (country) negotiations. 

Time horizon: Problems ranging from simple to complex that must be resolved within days to weeks. 

Competences:   Achieving through people, Building relationships, Drive to Achieve, Problem solving. 10-20% travel in the Region. Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priority     

Formal qualifications required:  Bachelor's degree in engineering. 

Previous experience required:  Leading teams and projects. 3-5 years in automotive, cross functional experience, manufacturing knowledge, cross cultural sensitivity, some experience in Lean Principles

Ideal candidate will have experience with design and implementation of automation (industrial robotics, conveyance systems, AGVs, and custom systems) as well as experience with high-volume Machining, Forming, and Assembly.
