The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing the process and resources for establishing and maintaining a total quality management system to achieve both internal and external requirements for the GKN AES Parts Repair business in Malaysia. Develops and implements procedures and processes that directly affect a Culture of Quality in day-to-day operations that promote the success of achieving operational goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
As Quality Manager, responsible for Approvals & Quality systems you will work together with multiple stakeholders in order to set up the quality system. Work location will be flexible as the job will include a frequent amount of business trips and work will be aquired both in the US, Sweden and Malaysia.

·         Set up Quality System to be compatible with the existing quality system in Aviation Repair- El Cajon.

·         Create & deliver a plan to obtain necessary customer approvals in order of planned production.

·         Offer training and establish a handover plan to prepare the local organization for full accountability.

·         Key point of contact with Malaysian Airworthiness Authorities, FAA & EASA

·         Obtain all necessary airworthiness approvals

·         Lead all onsite visits of all certification/approval bodies

·         Set up document management system

·         Establish Quality training materials & plans for all new hires including new operator checks

·         Serves as liaison with manufacturing operations staff to improve product processes, as technical quality contact with customers and laboratories, and as the company´s primary release authority.

·         Assists in the development and maintenance of a corporate culture, which supports the overall business objectives and goals by providing leadership on issues that involve “quality, cost, process, schedule and people.”

·         Develops and implements an accreditation program for suppliers.

·         Develops and monitors all key Quality systems and procedures ensuring compliance with all customer requirements while supporting cost, schedule and budget objectives.

·         Develops and implements internal quality audits to ensure compliance with customer requirements and proactively supports Engineering and Manufacturing to meet or exceed productions goals.

·         Negotiates with proposed customers to establish contractual Quality requirements and Quality statements of work.

·         Partners with other functional departments for planning and coordination of best practice methods, systems, human resource capital and quality systems deployment.

·         Provides leadership and direction for all Quality initiatives with emphasis on team building and employee engagement.

·         Promotes the business’s commitment to maintain a safe workplace and protect the environment in the local communities we do business in.

·         Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned.
