About The Opportunity

The department “Instrumentation & component testing” is looking for a measurement engineer with focus on signal processing and structural measurements. The department is responsible for instrumentation and testing of gas turbine engines and components within the GKN Aerospace facility in Trollhättan. Our product range includes both military and commercial jet engines as well as stationary gas turbines and rocket engines and components. We work cross functionally in all product development stages from technology and concept development to product support.

Key Responsibilities

The position as test and measurement engineer is about participating in instrumentation and testing of full scale gas turbine engines or components.  Your main focus will be work with measurement set up (instrumentation and signal conditioning) as well as signal processing of static and dynamic test data. The measurement data can come from in house measurements or from customer sites. The measured quantities are primarily strain, dynamic pressure and vibration. You will also work with structural dynamic testing, such as experimental modal analysis and frequency response tests, vibration and fatigue testing.

Qualifications / Experience / Skills


- Engineer with an M.Sc. degree or equivalent experience
- Solid knowledge in measurement physics and/or signal processing technology.
- Knowledge or experience of specific gas turbine testing methods as tip-timing, tip-clearance or rotor dynamics measurements is a great advantage
- Experience in NVH-measurements is an advantage
- Experience from using measurement systems like Müller BBM, LMS, B & K, MTS is an advantag
- Fluent in English both spoken and written, and preferably also in Swedish

Software and IT

- Microsoft Office
- Programming skills in MatLab and/or Lab-View is an advantage
