About The Opportunity

What you’ll do

Job Summary

Sources and purchases raw material, parts, services, assemblies and/or supplies necessary for on-time delivery to support the manufacturing processes.  Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.  Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records. May prepare bid packages.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage suppliers and purchase requirements to ensure on-time delivery of materials, parts, assemblies and processing.
  • Manage the daily supply chain operations including supplier sourcing/management, procurement, inventory management, quality requirements, engineering specifications, etc.
  • Improve supplier and supply chain processes that reduce lead times, costs and inventory while increasing quality and on-time deliveries.
  • Negotiate supplier short and long term agreements and manages supplier costs, quality, and on-time delivery expectations.
  • Manage new business supplier requests for quotation.
  • Uses ERP systems and business processes for traditional and consignment min/max purchasing systems.
  • Implement supplier kitting programs, bar-coding/RFID and over advanced supply chain processes.
  • Develop supplier partnerships and supplier maturity path deployment improvements such as; value analysis/engineering, lean manufacturing, COPQ, and inventory consignment programs, etc.
  • Support supplier conferences and supplier training as required.
  • Seek out new supplier sources to improve the supply chain and reduce risks.
  • Analyze, communicate and implement solutions to suppliers, commodities and market/economic issues.
  • Maintain Supplier Performance Rating System and communicate results with sub-tier supplier management.

About you

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations or Supply Chain Management. Education requirements may be substituted with related supply chain experience.
  • 7 or more years with supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP and excellent negotiation skills, with written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with suppliers.
  • Proficient in MS Office application (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint).

 

 

Additional Qualifications

  • Must be an organized, self-starter, with a positive attitude, that is driven to achieve benchmark levels of supply chain/supplier performance.
  • A CPM, CPSM, or CPIM designation, a strong business/financial acumen
  • Experience in procuring aerospace materials and hardware.     

Essential Duties:

  • Requires frequent standing, walking or sitting.
  • Occasional twisting, lifting, pushing, climbing, kneeling, carrying, bending, balancing, reaching and crawling.
  • Work in a wide range of conditions, both office and machining and assembly shop floor environments.
