About The Opportunity
To Lead the BIR Machine Build, Support, Capital project industrialisation, Improvement projects, and Automation projects. Standard Adherence to core process projects and new machinery build projects. Work with electrical contractors ensuring safe practices are ensured and equipment is tested prior to use. Support instruct and train, where necessary any personnel associated with such equipment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Machine Build Facility typically, Budgets, planning, Manufacture & construction through to electrical hardware build, installation, software & final test, commission & installation.
  • To manage from concept to realisation the electrical, plc requirements for all projects
  • To specify Electrical, plc requirements for current and new equipment
  • To design, modify or create new plant electronic Hardware control PLC programmes
  • To define machine project requirements, obtain quotations and manage procurement 
  • To construct or contract machinery electrical Hardware control & PLC software systems.
  • To liase with machinery suppliers and electrical system plc integrators 
  • Perform electrical wiring, full software and control including commissioning for new builds
  • Create and control machinery technical documentation and reference material
  • To produce detailed drawings and specifications regarding electronic control
  • To work specifically on any project associated with electrical and robotic control
  • Liaise with all personnel on any specifications or details regarding electronic control
  • To take on any training requirements deemed necessary to carry out the job function.
  • To upskill and train others, with respect to critical factory breakdown scenarios
  • To participate in or deliver training deemed necessary to support business needs
  • To operate always in line with safe working practises.
  • To project manage the Electrical Project requirements where required
  • To work with integrators, suppliers and liase with customers where applicable
  • To work on any projects associated with control and automation supporting new plant introduction, by undertaking acceptance testing both on site and at supplier premises
  • Define the specification of a control system based on the requirements of the machine/process liaising with manufacturers or suppliers directly
  • Obtain quotations & raise requisitions for all purchased elements of a machine/control system in conjunction with the project leader
  • Define construct and program a Profinet network including the use of switches and firewalls as necessary.
  • Program empty “as supplied” ABB, KUKA and Motorman robots, Additional robot control systems and advantage (Kuka iiwa, Universal Robots etc)
  • Construct flow diagrams from process specifications and review with project leader.
  • Budget Management
