About The Opportunity

Materials- Team Leader position in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Role Purpose: Provide direction and support in Materials department to accomplish tasks and prevent assembly shortages and/or stock out.
Qualifications and Skills:
Formal Qualifications
  • High School diploma required
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs.
  • Two years experience in warehouse/manufacturing/operations and past fork lift experience.
  • Experience providing excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and multi-tasking.
  • Demonstrated skills organizing, planning, and project implementation.
  • One year experience with computer applications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Able to perform all the role responsibilities for the Advanced and Applying material roles. includes the responsibilities that follow, but is not all inclusive.
  • Comply with all company, departmental and safety policies and procedures.
  • Directs and monitors activity of material handling Associates on assigned shift. Promptly notifying Supervisor of any issues.
  • Receives material daily from shuttles/suppliers and assists in loading into the flow racks as time allows. This includes all UPS / Fed Ex deliveries for direct and indirect materials.
  • Receives material into Mfg Pro daily, as required.
  • Completing manual packing lists and BOL’s, as required.
  • Supports cycle counts as required by the team.
  • Maintains files (paper and electronic) as required by this function/supervisor.
  • Completes service orders and service boxes as required by the schedule, ordering the correct amount of cardboard from the warehouse on time.
  • Assists with banding finished goods and other items as required.
  • Prepares connectors and switches for shipment, as required.
  • Assists with loading cardboard/plastic into compactors, ensuring that area is kept clean.
  • Complete all end of day activities, per instructions.
  • Assists external warehouse in processing Customer shipments. This includes knowing how to scan labels, the proper way to load trucks, completing the paperwork per customer requirements, and sending a proper ASN. Runs the EDI report
  • Runs the service requirements report and creates and posts the schedule each week.
  • Set up trucks, as required.
  • Expedite components from the warehouse, when needed, to ensure no stock-outs occur in any Value Streams.
  • Prepares and sets up all UPS / Fed Ex shipments. Set up trucks, as required.
  • Verifies cardboard counts and other Uline / indirect supplies listed on the pick ticket. Places orders from the supplier and warehouse, as required.
  • Takes the lead on projects. These may be delegated to the team, but will ensure that the tasks are completed on time.
  • Ensures that all vacation coverage is completed for materials team, tuggers, and forklift drivers.
  • Any other tasks and duties as assigned.
